Our History

The origins of the estate go back to 1746, when Nicolas Chiquet planted his first vine. In 1919, Fernand & Gaston Chiquet took the initiative of preserving their grapes, making champagne from them, and selling it by themselves.

The Gaston Chiquet brand was created in 1935, and the family domain expanded into the Ay and Hautvillers terroirs to provide new opportunities for blending, an essential art in Champagne-making.

Today, Antoine and Nicolas Chiquet ensure continuity, respecting the ancestral rules: “Our essential aim is to maintain the high standards of quality to which we are heirs”;  the techniques have improved, but tradition remains.
